16ft Skiffs
The flagship class of the club. Three-handed open skiffs racing on Sydney Harbour every Saturday from September through April.
The 16ft Skiff is one of Australia’s oldest and most exhilarating one-design classes, with roots stretching back to the 1890s. Sailed by a crew of three with no trapezes and a generous sail plan, the 16 demands precise crew work, sharp tactics and absolute trust.
Manly is the spiritual home of the class. Our Saturday fleet races on a championship course off Manly Cove, and our boats travel each summer for the Australian and NSW Championships.
